Metode ini dipilih karena prosesnya yang cepat, efisien, dan ramah lingkungan. Karakterisasi C-Dots dilakukan menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis dan Photoluminescence (PL) untuk menganalisis sifat optiknya serta interaksi dengan ion Fe³⁺. Uji Spektrofotometer UV-Vis dilakukan pada rentang panjang gelombang 245-800 nm. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa C-Dots memiliki puncak absorbansi sebesar 4.379 pada panjang gelombang 251 nm. Setelah penambahan ion Fe³⁺, puncak absorbansi bergeser ke 4.120 pada panjang gelombang 245, menunjukkan adanya interaksi antara C-Dots dan ion Fe³⁺. Selain itu, hasil uji PL menunjukkan peningkatan intensitas emisi setelah penambahan ion Fe³⁺, mengindikasikan bahwa C-Dots dapat digunakan sebagai sensor fluoresen untuk mendeteksi keberadaan ion Fe³⁺. abstract: This study aims to develop a Fe³⁺ ion detector based on carbon dots (C-Dots) synthesized from potato peel waste using a microwave heating method. This method was chosen because the process is fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly. C-Dots characterization was carried out using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and Photoluminescence (PL) to analyze its optical properties and interactions with Fe³⁺ ions. The UV-Vis Spectrophotometer test was carried out in the wavelength range of 245-800 nm. The results showed that C-Dots had an absorbance peak of 4,379 at a wavelength of 251 nm. After the addition of Fe³⁺ ions, the absorbance peak shifted to 4,120 at a wavelength of 245, indicating an interaction between C-Dots and Fe³⁺ ions.
