description: Macrozoobentos is type of aquatic organisms which essential for mineralization and decomposition of organic matter. Their diversity in a water body is influenced by substrate types and various physical and chemical parameters. This study focuses in Situ Gintung, an artificial lake in South Tangerang City, which serves as a recharge area and a source water development site. Given the community's utilization of this ecosystem, it is essential to assess the diversity and spatial distribution of macrozoobentos concerning environmental factors. Conducted from June - August 2024, this research employed purposive sampling to establish six observation sites. Data analysis included the abundance index, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index, species distribution pattern index, Millar's triangle for substrate type determination, Bray-Curtis index for station similarity assessment, and principal component analysis (PCA) to explore relationships between macrozoobentos abundance and aquatic environmental factors. The findings revealed nine macrozoobentos species belonging to two classes (Gastropoda and Oligochaeta). The highest abundance was recorded at station 1 (476 ind/m²), while station 5 had the lowest (216 ind/m²). The diversity assessment categorized the waters of Situ Gintung as having moderate diversity, characterized by silty clay substrates. Spatially, macrozoobentos were distributed unevenly, with a clustered pattern and no dominant species. PCA results indicated a positive correlation between macrozoobentos abundance and factors such as light, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), substrate type, and organic matter content.
