description: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of both sectors—economic and non-economic. To assess the non-economic sector, the democracy index is used. Meanwhile, to assess the economic sector, capital expenditure, provincial minimum wage, GDP per capita, and the level of foreign direct investment participation from twenty provinces located in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Manpower. The fixed effect model (FEM) is used to conduct panel data analysis. The results of the F statistical test (simultaneous test) show that the democracy index, provincial minimum wage, capital expenditure, GDP per capita, and the labor force participation rate simultaneously affect the economic and non-economic sectors. Furthermore, based on the t test (partial test), 20 provinces in Indonesia have foreign direct investment that is positively and significantly influenced by capital expenditure and provincial minimum wage; however, provincial minimum wage affects foreign investment.
