description: This study aims to examine the influence of literacy culture and the use of comic media in the Serang Javanese language on the vocabulary mastery of fourth-grade students at SDN Kubang Apu, Serang City. The background of this research stems from students’ low proficiency in understanding and using the Serang Javanese language, which is a vital part of local wisdom in Banten. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental class and a control class. The experimental class received treatment using a reading literacy culture and Serang Javanese comic media, while the control class underwent conventional learning. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires. The results revealed that both the literacy culture and the use of comics significantly improved students' Serang Javanese vocabulary mastery. Furthermore, an interaction effect between the two independent variables was found to influence students’ language ability. Therefore, this study supports the effectiveness of literacy-based instruction and contextual media such as local-language comics in preserving regional languages and enhancing students’ language proficiency.
