description: This study aims to develop a mathematical literacy test instrumen with the Teaching at the Right Level approach in the Merdeka curriculum for grade VIII junior high school students. This research is included in the type of Research and Development research with the ADDIE research model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this research were 66 8th grade   students at SMP Negeri 10 Kota Serang. This development research produced 6 questions of mathematical literacy test instrumens with the TaRL approach and two cognitive levels used, namely high and low cognitive levels. The results of this study indicate that the instrumens developed meet the valid and reliable categories, so the instrumens are feasible and consistent to use. In addition, this study shows the   results of mathematical literasy skills of junior hight scholl students in grade VIII are quite good.
