%X This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of eighth-grade students at a public junior high school in Tangerang on the topic of Two-Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV), viewed from the perspective of learning difficulty. Problem-solving ability encompasses higher-order thinking processes including conceptual understanding, strategy application, as well as evaluation and verification of solutions. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires and tests based on problem-solving indicators. The subjects of this study are eighth-grade junior high school students. The results indicate that the majority of students experience learning difficulties in mathematics, characterized by low perseverance when facing complex problems, calculation errors, and the need for external assistance in problem-solving. Among the four problem-solving indicators, problem comprehension achieved the highest success rate at 80%, while proof and verification of answers were the lowest at 40%. These findings confirm that although conceptual understanding has been attained, students’ abilities to design mathematical models, select solution strategies, and verify answers still require improvement. This study recommends implementing instructional strategies that enhance critical and reflective thinking skills in mathematical problem-solving. %I UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA %D 2025 %O Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP di Tangerang pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan Learning Difficulty. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah mencakup proses berpikir tingkat tinggi yang meliputi pemahaman konsep, penerapan strategi, serta evaluasi dan verifikasi solusi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dan tes yang mengacu pada indikator pemecahan masalah. Subjek dalam penelitian ini siswa SMP kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika, ditandai dengan rendahnya ketahanan menghadapi soal kompleks, kesalahan dalam perhitungan, serta kebutuhan bantuan eksternal dalam penyelesaian masalah. Dari empat indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pemahaman masalah memperoleh persentase ketercapaian tertinggi sebesar 80%, sedangkan pembuktian dan verifikasi jawaban terendah dengan 40%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun pemahaman konsep telah dicapai, kemampuan siswa dalam merancang model matematika, memilih strategi penyelesaian, dan memverifikasi jawaban masih perlu ditingkatkan.
