Mathematics learning at the junior high school level often faces the challenge of low learning outcomes, learning motivation, and student confidence. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to apply learning methods that are in accordance with the characteristics of student. The focus of this research is to determine the effect of video modeling example, worked-example, and practice problem learning methods on self-efficacy, motivation, and learning outcomes of students’ cognitive aspects. The theoretical foundations used in this research include cognitive load theory, social cognitive theory, and multimedia learning theory, which explain the important role of visualization, structured examples, and independent practice in the learning process. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and involved three experimental classes of grade VIII students from a school in Serang City. Each class receives different learning method treatments. Data collection techniques used learning outcomes tests, self-efficacy, and motivation questionnaires, which were analysed using t-test and ANOVA, and continued with post hoc test. The results showed that the three methods had a significant effect on self-efficacy, motivation, and learning outcomes in cognitive aspects. The practice problem method is more effective in increasing self-efficacy, video modeling example is more effective in increasing learning motivation, while worked-example is more effective in improving learning outcomes in cognitive aspects.
