This method was chosen because it is considered capable of enhancing critical thinking skills through systematic steps such as observation, problem formulation, hypothesis, experimentation, and conclusion. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups: the experimental group (using the scientific method) and the control group (using conventional learning), both of which were assessed using pretests and posttests. The study was conducted at SMK Negeri 2 Pandeglang with Class XI APL students during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, involving a sample of 68 students selected through purposive sampling. Instruments used included written tests to measure conceptual understanding and questionnaires to assess learning independence. Data analysis was carried out using MANOVA. The results showed that the application of the scientific method had a significant effect on (1) improving conceptual understanding, (2) enhancing learning independence, and (3) overall improvement in both aspects in the topic of probability.
