This study is to analyze the Validity of the use of Fingerprints/Thumbprints of the parties as a substitute for signatures in PPAT Deeds reviewed from the legal provisions and legal consequences of the use of Fingerprints/Thumbprints of the parties as a substitute for signatures in PPAT Deeds. The theories used are the Theory of Legal Certainty and the Theory of Evidence. The research method used is the normative legal approach and the empirical legal approach. The results of the study show that the Validity of Fingerprints/Thumbprints as a substitute for signatures in PPAT Deeds as authentic deeds depends on the fulfillment of the provisions of Article 1874 of the Civil Code and Article 44 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the UUJN. These provisions require the inclusion of reasons for not signing the deed at the end and the making of the deed before a Notary. Thus, if these requirements are met, the thumbprint has the same legal force as the signature. And the Deed that is signed by replacing it with Fingerprints/Thumbprints is a valid deed because it is valid, then of course there are legal consequences, namely the recognition of the rights and obligations of the parties regulated in the deed. The legal consequences arising from the validity of an authentic deed whose signature is replaced with a fingerprint/thumbprint are the recognition of the rights and obligations of the parties to the deed."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
