Fisheries. Angling description: The problem caused by microplastics that they can be ingested by aquatic biota such as shrimp, due to their small size and resemblance to food. The chemical components found in plastics can be absorbed by aquatic biota, thereby transmitting toxic substances if ingested by humans. The purpose of this research to determine the types and characteristics of microplastics and to analyze the abundance and polymers of microplastics in pacific white shrimp in the aquaculture ponds of Wanayasa Village. The research was conducted from June to September 2024. Sampling was conducted using the simple random sampling method, taken from three ponds with a total of 36 pacific white shrimp from each pond, consisting of 3 replications. Water samples were taken using a plankton net. Pacific white shrimp have their meat organs and digestive tract removed. The solvent used to dissolve the organ is 10% KOH, while the water is NaCl. The research results show the presence of microplastics in the form of fibers and fragments. Identification found six types of colors: red, black, blue, green, orange and white. The average total abundance of microplastics was 109 particles/ 12 individual in the muscle tissue and 47 particles/ 12 individual in the digestive organs. The highest percentage of microplastics in pacific white shrimp was found to be fiber at 93% and fragments at 7%. The abundance in water samples was found to be 42 particles/L.
