Referring to the Revised Road Pavement Design Manual (2017) Number 02/M/BM/2017, the effective CBR value for subgrade soil should not be less than 6%. If the value is lower, soil stabilization is required. One of the materials used for soil stabilization is a mixture of gypsum and glass powder. Gypsum contains approximately 90% CaSO₄·H₂O and functions to fill the soil pore spaces, thereby reducing the soil’s swelling potential. Glass powder contains silica, which has pozzolanic properties, making it suitable for soil stabilization. This study used an experimental method conducted in a laboratory to observe changes in soil characteristics due to the addition of these materials. There were nine mix variations, which were combinations of gypsum powder (0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, 16%) and glass powder (0%, 8%), with curing times of 0, 3, and 7 days. Tests were conducted on liquid limit, plastic limit, and unsoaked CBR. Based on the USCS classification, the soil is categorized as OH (organic clay with medium to high plasticity). The results showed that the initial CBR value of 3.8% increased to 25.27% after the addition of 12% gypsum and 8% glass powder with a curing period of 7 days. Thus, gypsum and glass powder can be used as additives for subgrade improvement using the stabilization method.
