Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with 5 students from the 11th semester of 2018 class. The findings reveal that despite pandemic-related disruptions—such as limited access to academic resources, social isolation, and psychological stress—80% of students remained motivated to complete their thesis, driven by personal goals and long-term aspirations. During the pandemic, intrinsic motivation was characterized by a desire to achieve academic milestones, while extrinsic motivation often stemmed from familial expectations and social pressure. Post-pandemic, motivation shifted further toward intrinsic sources, with students aligning their research topics more closely with personal interests and ambitions. The perceived value of external rewards diminished, and 80% of students prioritized family obligations over academic recognition. Interviews further highlighted students’ adaptive strategies, such as breaking tasks into manageable steps, seeking emotional support, and maintaining digital communication with advisors. These strategies helped mitigate academic stress and sustain progress.
