description: Character education in early childhood serves as a vital foundation for developing a   disciplined and responsible personality. One of the primary influences in this developmental   stage is the parenting style applied by parents in everyday life. This study aims to explore the   parenting styles employed by parents in fostering discipline in children aged 5–6 years in the   Vila Tomang Baru 2 housing complex, RT06/RW01, Kutabumi, Tangerang Regency. Using a   qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through observation,   interviews, and documentation involving five parents and two children within the specified age   range. The participants were parents with a high school educational background, most of   whom were housewives. The findings reveal that the democratic parenting style is the most   prevalent, characterized by the implementation of rules supported by explanations, open   communication, and consistent role modeling. Factors supporting the development of   discipline includes parental consistency, effective communication, and a socially supportive   environment. Conversely, challenges include parental inconsistency in rule enforcement and   the negative impact of technology. These results emphasize the importance of conscious and   consistent parenting strategies in shaping children's character from an early age.
