note: Umpan alami digunakan dalam penangkapan rajungan menggunakan bubu lipat. Nelayan umumnya menggunakan umpan alami karena harganya yang terjangkau. Namun demikian, aroma umpan alami akan cepat hilang ketika digunakan lebih dari 12 jam. Pengembangan formulasi umpan buatan dengan bahan hidrokoloid merupakan salah satu inovasi yang dapat mempertahankan aroma dan daya tahan umpan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas umpan buatan pada penangkapan rajungan dengan menggunakan bubu lipat di Teluk Banten. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2024 melalui ujicoba penangkapan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Jenis umpan yang digunakan adalah umpan alami (ikan pepetek) dan umpan buatan yang terbuat dari 15 g karagenan dengan penambahan 500 ml ekstrak ikan pepetek. Ujicoba penangkapan dilakukan selama 20 hari dengan 60 bubu perjenis umpan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis umpan yang berbeda secara signifikan mempengaruhi jumlah dan berat rajungan yang diperoleh. Umpan alami mendapatkan rajungan sebanyak 151 ekor dan umpan buatan mendapatkan 90 ekor. Umpan buatan dapat memikat rajungan, tetapi produktivitasnya masih lebih rendah dibandingkan umpan alami.
abstract: Natural bait was used in blue swimming crab fishing using folding traps.
Fishermen generally use natural bait because the price is affordable. However, the
flavor of natural bait will quickly disappear when used for more than 12 hours.
The development of artificial bait formulations using hydrocolloids is one
innovation that can maintain the smell and durability of the bait. This research
aims to determine the effectiveness of artificial bait in blue swimming crab fishing
using collapsible traps in Banten Bay. This research was conducted in SeptemberOctober 2024 through fishing trials using a completely randomized design. The
types of bait used are natural bait (ponyfish) and artificial bait made from 15 g of
carrageenan with the addition of 500 ml of ponyfish extract. The fishing trial was
carried out for 20 days with 60 traps per type of bait. The results showed that
different types of bait significantly affected the number and weight of crabs
obtained. Natural bait got 151 crabs, and artificial bait got 90 crabs. Synthetic bait
can attract crabs but still has lower productivity than natural bait.
