In Article 116 (a) of Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 1991  concerning the Compilation of Islamic Law, it has been stipulated that one of the  reasons that can be used to file for divorce is that one of the parties is a gambler. The  identification of the problem in this study is how the divorce rate  with online gambling behavior in the people of Serang City is reviewed according  to the Compilation of Islamic Law, then how the settlement efforts are carried out  by the Serang Religious Court in divorce cases due to online gambling. This study  uses a normative juridical method and is analyzed in a qualitative descriptive  manner based on the theory of legal certainty and the theory of existence. The  approach used in this study is Judicial Case Study, which is an approach or study  on the enforcement of the law, by using data collection techniques carried out by  literature studies and field research, to be able to obtain data sources derived from  secondary data consisting of primary materials, secondary materials and tertiary  materials as legal materials. The results in this study show that the divorce rate that  occurs due to online gambling from 2021 to 2024 has increased quite  worryingly. This discovery produces jurisprudence that can be used as a guideline  for judges in resolving similar cases and as a form of effort so that the increase in  divorce can be suppressed, especially divorces caused by online gambling. The  conclusions obtained in this study show that there is a significant relationship  between divorce rates and online gambling behavior.
