description: Forest and land fires have a significant impact on the economy, ecosystems and  public health. Cilegon City is one of the cities in Banten Province with an altitude  between 0-500 msal and consists of eight sub-districts namely Pulomerak, Grogol,  Purwakarta, Jombang, Citangkil, Cilegon, Ciwandan and Cibeber. Cilegon City  has geographical and demographic characteristics that have the potential risk of  forest and land fires due to the presence of adjacent agricultural, industrial and  forest areas. Based on data from BPBD Cilegon city, forest and land fire disasters  increased in 2023. The purposes of this research are: 1) To create a zoning map of  forest and land fire vulnerability in Cilegon city based on rainfall, soil type and  land cover; and 2) To analyze the map of forest and land fires in Cilegon city as a  scientific basis to support the formulation of disaster mitigation policies. This  research uses a quantitative method with a spatial analysis approach through  ArcGIS software. The data used are factors that cause forest and land fires,  including rainfall data, soil type and land cover. The results of this study indicate  that the Cilegon City area is divided into five vulnerability zones, namely very low,  low, medium, high and very high. Ciwandan and Cibeber subdistricts have high and  very high vulnerability levels. In this research, GIS technology was utilized to  produce a map of forest and land fire vulnerability zoning that serves as a scientific  basis to support decision-making in planning and establishing disaster mitigation  policies in a targeted and data-driven manner.
