Tangerang City is an area with high rainfall, with average monthly rainfall exceeding 100 mm. This study aims to determine the rate of temperature decrease on atmospheric conditions and to determine the comparison between atmospheric stability and rainfall in Tangerang City using daily rainfall data and upper air data for the period 2019 to 2023. The method used is quantitative with a non-experimental design, which focuses on lapse rate analysis and its relationship with heavy rainfall events. The results of the analysis using Microsoft Excel show that the highest monthly rainfall occurred in February 2020 with 23 rainy days, while atmospheric conditions experienced a conditional unstable state for 25 days. This data indicates that rain occurs at 92% of the time when the atmosphere is unstable.
