description: The understanding of the concept of love rupiah in students is still relatively low, this is due to the delivery of conventional material and has not accommodated the visual, auditory and kinesthetic and contextual learning styles of students. To answer these problems, this study aims to develop audiovisual media based on short films that can be used as a learning tool to improve understanding of the concept of love rupiah in class X students at SMAN 2 KS Cilegon. This research uses the ASSURE development model (Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Media and Materials, Utilize Media and Materials, Require Learner Participation, Evaluate and Revise) with stages including needs analysis, formulation of learning objectives, media selection and development, implementation and evaluation. The developed short film media contains educational content related to the importance of recognizing, caring for, and protecting rupiah money as a symbol of the state. Validation was carried out by three experts, namely media experts with eligibility results of 94%, material experts at 85%, and linguists at 94%, all of which were in the “very feasible” category.  Product trials were conducted on 35 grade X students, and showed that the media developed was effective and helped improve students' understanding of the concept of love for the rupiah. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that short film media is effectively used as an alternative learning media to instill national values through contextual economic education at the secondary school level.
