description: This study was conducted based on the problem of low understanding of students sexual education and the lack of media in providing sexual education to students. Efforts that can be made to overcome this problem are by providing sexual education materials using interactive and interesting media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pop-up book media to improve the understanding of   sexual education in high school students. The pop-up book media used is a media developed by Yunia Rahayu Ningsih. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design type, the sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Treatment was given to two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group with 30 students in each group. Of the 204 students who took the pre-test, there were 60 students in the low category, 87 students in the medium category, and 57 students in the high category. The data collection technique used a guttman scale sexual education questionnaire and unstructured interviews. The data analysis technique used is non-parametric analysis with the Mann-Whitney U hypothesis test obtaining an Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000, meaning that the value is less than 0.05. Based on the hypothesis test, it shows that Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) <0.05, so it can be concluded that the use of pop-up book media is effective and has a significant effect on increasing the understanding of sexual education of grade V and VI students of SD Negeri 4 Anyar.
