"Bipolar plate is one of the important components of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC). The main function of the bipolar plate, namely as a frame or place to generate electrical energy. The expensive production cost of \r\nbipolar plates causes PEMFC to be uneconomical, so an innovation is made that focuses on producing lighter, cheaper bipolar plates, but still has good mechanical \r\nproperties and corrosion resistance. The form of innovation that can be done is to replace the bipolar plate raw material. Stainless steel 304 thin foil has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance at a relatively cheap price. However, \r\nthe 304 stainless steel material thin foil resulting from the cold rolling process still has residual stresses that affect the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance \r\nof the bipolar plate. Therefore,research was conducted to remove the residual stress due to cold rolling and obtain good ductility for the application of bipolar plate. \r\nNormalizing and tempering heat treatment is the right choice to achieve this goal. In this study, the tempering process was carried out with temperature variations of \r\n500 ° C, 550 ° C, and 600 ° C, and variations in holding time for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes. Tests were conducted in the form of microstructure observation, tensile testing, and corrosion resistance. The 550°C temperature \r\nspecimen with 90 minutes holding time showed the best mechanical properties. The yield strength value is 495 MPa, the tensile strength value is 850 MPa, the elongation value is 76%, and the corrosion rate value is 0.0199 mm/y.
