"Wastewater from the Basic Chemistry Laboratory of FT Untirta produces wastewater \r\nwith a pH level of 1.35 and fairly high levels of TDS, TSS, COD, Fe, namely 4125 ppm, \r\n3850 ppm, 2544.02 ppm, and 738.9 ppm. Until now, the wastewater of the Basic \r\nChemistry Laboratory has not been processed, while it is stored in jerry cans, then \r\ngiven to third parties and requires quite a large cost. This study aims to provide an \r\nalternative for basic chemical wastewater treatment, to determine the comparison of \r\nthe effectiveness of aluminum sulfate and Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) coagulants \r\nand to obtain the optimum type and dosage. Wastewater treatment is carried out \r\nphysically and chemically, namely the aeration or no aeration process followed by \r\ncoagulation-flocculation. Before the waste water treatment process is carried out, a \r\ndilution process is carried out (1:4). The aeration process lasted 30 minutes for each \r\nsample, followed by the coagulation-flocculation process with Aluminum Sulfate and \r\nPAC coagulants at doses of 30 ppm, 50 ppm, 70 ppm and 90 ppm. Coagulation stirring \r\nprocess at 100 rpm and flocculation stirring at 40 rpm, then settling for 30 minutes. \r\nBased on the research results, it can be concluded that the optimum use of aluminum \r\nsulfate coagulant is 90 ppm with the aeration process. The removal efficiency with the \r\naeration process obtained TDS 95.64%, TSS 95.93%, Fe 99.99%. For the pH \r\nparameter, there was a decrease from 7.65 to 6.74.
