Until now, the wastewater of the Basic Chemistry Laboratory has not been processed, while it is stored in jerry cans, then given to third parties and requires quite a large cost. This study aims to provide an alternative for basic chemical wastewater treatment, to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of aluminum sulfate and Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) coagulants and to obtain the optimum type and dosage. Wastewater treatment is carried out physically and chemically, namely the aeration or no aeration process followed by coagulation-flocculation. Before the waste water treatment process is carried out, a dilution process is carried out (1:4). The aeration process lasted 30 minutes for each sample, followed by the coagulation-flocculation process with Aluminum Sulfate and PAC coagulants at doses of 30 ppm, 50 ppm, 70 ppm and 90 ppm. Coagulation stirring process at 100 rpm and flocculation stirring at 40 rpm, then settling for 30 minutes. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the optimum use of aluminum sulfate coagulant is 90 ppm with the aeration process. The removal efficiency with the aeration process obtained TDS 95.64%, TSS 95.93%, Fe 99.99%. For the pH parameter, there was a decrease from 7.65 to 6.74.
