description: Background: Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Physical and mental impairments can lead to changes in independence and self-assessment in daily activities. A lack of independence and feelings of worthlessness or being undervalued can negatively affect the quality of life of post-stroke patients. Objective: To examine the association between independence in daily activities and self-esteem with quality of life among post-stroke patients at the Neurology Clinic of Dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Regional Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted using accidental sampling with 76 participants. Data were collected using the Barthel Index, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), and the short version of the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). Chi-square tests were used for bivariate analysis. Results: The study findings showed a significant relationship between independence in performing daily activities and quality of life (p = 0.001; < α (0.05)), as well as a significant relationship between self-esteem and quality of life (p = 0.005; < α (0.05)). Conclusion: Independence in daily activities and self-esteem are significantly associated with the quality of life in post-stroke patients.
