description: Background: Choking in infants was an emergency condition that required immediate treatment because it could obstruct oxygen flow, cause brain damage, and lead to death. Choking was the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children under 3 years old, with a prevalence of 30.5% in infants under 1 year and 77.1% in children under 3 years. Unfortunately, many parents, especially mothers, did not understand how to manage it properly and tended to panic when faced with such situations. A study at UPTD Puskesmas Singandaru in Serang City showed that many mothers needed accurate information about choking management. One effective educational method was simulation. Objective : To determine the effect of simulation-based learning on mothers’ ability in handling infant choking. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. Thirty-four respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was an observation sheet, and data were analyzed using the Dependent T-Test. Results: The average mothers ability score increased from 3.35 (SD 1.098) to 11.62 (SD 1.498) after simulation learning. The average score improvement was 8.27. The Dependent T-Test showed a significant p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There was a significant effect of simulation-based learning on mothers ability to manage infant choking at UPTD Puskesmas Singandaru, Serang City. Suggestion: Simulation-based learning could be recommended to improve mothers’ ability in handling infant choking.
