Choking was the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children under 3 years old, with a prevalence of 30.5% in infants under 1 year and 77.1% in children under 3 years. Unfortunately, many parents, especially mothers, did not understand how to manage it properly and tended to panic when faced with such situations. A study at UPTD Puskesmas Singandaru in Serang City showed that many mothers needed accurate information about choking management. One effective educational method was simulation. Objective : To determine the effect of simulation-based learning on mothers’ ability in handling infant choking. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. Thirty-four respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was an observation sheet, and data were analyzed using the Dependent T-Test. Results: The average mothers ability score increased from 3.35 (SD 1.098) to 11.62 (SD 1.498) after simulation learning. The average score improvement was 8.27. The Dependent T-Test showed a significant p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There was a significant effect of simulation-based learning on mothers ability to manage infant choking at UPTD Puskesmas Singandaru, Serang City.
