TY - THES Y1 - 2025/// N2 - Background: The nursing profession carries a significant responsibility in providing nursing care, often accompanied by high work demands that can trigger stress. Poorly managed work stress can lead to decreased nurse performance and negatively impact the quality of care. In the hospital work environment particularly in inpatient wards nurses face heavy workloads, emotional challenges, and organizational pressures that may affect their job performance. Therefore, it is important to identify the relationship between work stress and nurse performance to implement effective stress management strategies. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the level of work stress and the performance of nurses in the inpatient wards at RSUD Banten. Method: This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 67 nurses working in the inpatient wards of RSUD Banten, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire comprising 30 questions on work stress and 12 questions on nurse performance. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. Results: The Chi-Square test results on the relationship between work stress and nurse performance in the inpatient wards of RSUD Banten showed a p-value of 0.150 > ? (0.05), indicating that there is no significant relationship between work stress and performance. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between work stress and the performance of nurses in the inpatient wards at RSUD Banten.
