description: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition in which kidney function gradually  declines. One of the main causes of CKD is hypertension, accounting for  approximately 35% of cases. Hypertension can damage the glomeruli and lead to  CKD. Several characteristic factors such as age, gender, occupation, duration of  hypertension, and a family history of uncontrolled hypertension play a role in  increasing the incidence of CKD. This study aims to describe CKD patients with a  history of hypertension based on their characteristics in the hemodialysis unit of  RSUD dr. Drajat Prawiranegara. The method used is descriptive quantitative with  an accidental sampling approach. The sample consisted of 68 CKD patients with a  history of hypertension. Data were collected based on characteristics such as age,  gender, occupation, duration of hypertension, and family history of hypertension.  The results showed that most patients were early elderly (38.2%), male (61.8%),  unemployed (30.9%), had hypertension for 1–5 years (51.5%), and had a family  history of hypertension (66.2%). In conclusion, characteristics such as age, gender,  occupation, duration of hypertension, and family history of hypertension may be  risk factors contributing to the development of CKD.
