description: The research examines is that problems arise because of the problems that exist in  public services, visiting services for inmates at class IIA Cilegon correctional institutions, there  are several issues regarding the problem of family visiting services, such as visiting services  that are not yet optimal, resulting in disturbances to security and order, which causes a lack of  understanding by prisoners and visitors regarding the requirements. , flow and rules of visits  so that families of inmates often have several obstacles in visiting families who are inmates at  the Cilegon Class IIA prison. The identification of the problem in this research is how public  services are in visiting services for inmates at the Cilegon Class IIA Correctional Institution  based on the Decree of the Head of the Cilegon Class IIA Correctional Institution Number:  W12.PAS.PAS.6-003.OT.02.02 of 2024 and what are the obstacles to public services in visiting  services for inmates at the Cilegon Class IIA Correctional Institution based on the Decree of  the Head of the Cilegon Class IIA Correctional Institution Number: W12.PAS.PAS.6-  003.OT.02.02 of 2024. The theories used are authority theory and public service theory, then  the research used is empirical juridical. The research specifications used are analytical  descriptive. The research data sources used in the research are primary data and secondary  data. The data collection techniques used in this research used field research, library research  and documentation techniques. Data analysis in the research used was a qualitative descriptive  approach. The results of the research show that officers at the Class IIA Cilegon Penitentiary  have carried out their duties well and the obstacles are non-compliance between the families  of the inmates in visiting the inmates at the Class IIA Cilegon Penitentiary. The conclusion of  this research is based on the Decree of the Head of the Class IIA Cilegon Correctional  Institution Number: W12.PAS.PAS.6-003.OT.02.02 of 2024 to have attribution authority and  the obstacles that occur hamper several principles of public service. Suggestions, with  socialization by Class IIA Cilegon Prison officers and the implementation of firm and  consistent sanctions as well as administrative sanctions, steps to improve public services in  visiting services for inmates at the Class IIA Cilegon Penitentiary.
