Producers use food technology that makes the quality level of food deteriorate faster and rot to be durable in good condition, it is called the addition of preservatives. Formalin pada makanan yang bila terkontaminasi konsumen, secara tidak langsung akan menjadi racun bagi organ tubuh. This means that it can interfere with the health caused even if it is not visible for a short period of time. Consumers are every person who uses goods and or services available in society either for the benefit of themselves, their families, other people, or other living beings and not to be manipulated. The theory i used in this study is the theory of legal responsibility and protection. The research method I use in this study is normative juridical, which is legal research that refers to legal norms contained in laws and regulations by collecting secondary data and primary data. The results of the study show that the responsibilities of entrepreneur have not been carried out optimally in accordance with Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Business actors and producers must be in good faith in trading their goods, not only thinking about profits without thinking about the adverse impact on consumers.
