description: This study aimed to determine the effect of different growing media types on the growth and yield of three shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) varieties, namely Trisula, Bima Brebes, and Merdeka. The research was conducted from November 2024 to February 2025 at Perumahan Dasana Indah Blok SO16 No 12, Tangerang. The experiment design used was a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors : growing media types and shallot varieties. The treatments for the growing media consisted of M1 (cocopeat), M2 (rice husk charcoal), and M3 (cocopeat + rice husk charcoal). Meanwhile, the shallots variety treatments were V1 (Trisula), V2 (Bima Brebes), and V3 (Merdeka). The result showed no interaction between the growing media and shallot variety treatments for any of the observed growth and yield parameters. Furthermore, the cocopeat medium (M1) had a highly significantly affected on fresh bulb weight per plant and dry bulb weight per plant. Meanwhile, the rice husk charcoal medium (M2) had a highly significantly affected on plant height and the number of bulbs per plant. Then, the Bima Brebes shallot variety (V2) had a highly significantly affected on the dry bulb weight per plant.
