description: The objective of this study is to determine the effect of work discipline (X1) and  competence (X2) on employee performance (Y) through job satisfaction (Z) among  midwives at Dr. Drajat Prawiranegara Regional General Hospital. The research  method used in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The  population in this study consists of 75 employees. The sampling technique used is  a saturated sample, where the entire population is taken as the sample, totaling 75  respondents. Data analysis in this study was conducted using Structural Equation  Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS 4.0 analysis tool. Based on the hypothesis  testing results in this study, the findings are as follows: 1.Work discipline has a  positive and significant effect on employee performance. 2. Competence has a  positive but not significant effect on employee performance. 3.Work discipline has  a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. 4.Competence has a positive  and significant effect on job satisfaction. 5.Job satisfaction has a positive and  significant effect on employee performance. 6.Work discipline has a positive and  significant effect on employee performance when mediated by job satisfaction.  7.Competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance when  mediated by job satisfaction.
