description: The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is a unitary state with a   republican form of government operating under a democratic system.   Article 22E season 5 of the 1945 Constitution mandates that "General   elections are organized by a General Election Commission that is   national, permanent, and independent." However, challenges persist in the   2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential Election. This study examines   issues faced by the General Election Commission in implementing its   functions during the 2024 election. Using Pancasila democracy and legal   authority theories, the research adopts a normative-empirical juridical   method through statutory and case approaches. Data was collected   through field studies and literature reviews, analyzed qualitatively. The   findings reveal that, while KPU operations are regulated by law, practical   execution often diverges. Strengthened coordination with stakeholders,   including the government, political parties, and oversight institutions, is   crucial to addressing recurring technical and administrative challenges.
