The Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang has carried out its role by organizing training programs. The purpose of this research is to understand the role of Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang in enhancing the competencies of training participants and to identify the challenges faced in organizing training at BBPVP Serang. Serang, as the capital city of Banten Province, is not exempt from common issues such as unemployment. The Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang serves as an extension of the government’s efforts to enhance the competencies of the community as a solution to the longstanding problem of unemployment. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive method. This method was chosen to provide an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon being studied. Data collection techniques in this research include observation, interviews, and documentation. The determination of informants in this study was done using purposive sampling. The research findings show that the Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas Serang has fulfilled its role by organizing training programs there. The training that has been conducted demonstrates an improvement in the competencies of the participants through the training programs offered. This success is attributed to the contribution of the instructors, as well as the support provided by the facilities and infrastructure at Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang, which help facilitate the implementation of the training activities. The increased competencies of the training participants can certainly be utilized as their efforts to secure the jobs they desire.
