description: This research aims to analyse the types of expressive speech acts in the cinematic   work Miracle in Cell No. 7, directed by Hanung Bramantyo. It also explores the   implications of these expressive acts for teaching Indonesian to 11th-grade   vocational high school students. The film serves as the primary data source, with   utterances containing expressive speech acts as the main focus of analysis. This   study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using extralingual matching   tehniques for analysis and non-participatory observation and note taking for data   collection. The researcher acted as the primary instrument, and triangulation was   employed to ensure data validity. A total of 41 expressive speech acts were   identified, including 1 act of apology, 1 greeting, 5 expressions of gratitude, 26   expressions of attitude, 7 challenges, and 1 expression of sympathy. The most   frequent type found was expressions of attitude, with 26 instances, indicating that   the film heavily emphazies character portrayal through dialogue and behaviour.   The findings can be applied to Indonesian language instruction, particulary in   teaching drama texts for grade 11 students, aligned with basic competency 3.19,   wich focuses on analysing the content and language of plays read of viewed in class.
