Plant breeding is a process to develop new, superior varieties. GA3 has an important role in plant physiological processes, such as stimulating seed germination, plant root growth, germination, leaf growth, and flower and fruit development. This study used a Split Plot Design with 2 factors repeated 3 times. The first factor is the golden melon genotype BC-1, BC-2, BC-3, Kinanti, and Alisha. The second factor is the effect of GA3 with 4 levels, P0 (control), P1 (40 ppm), P2 (80 ppm), P3 (120 ppm). The parameters tested were fruit skin color, fruit skin type, fruit shape, fruit flesh color, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness, fruit sweetness, and fruit ratio. The golden melon genotypes have different characteristics in terms of fruit shape and fruit flesh color, but are not significantly different in fruit flesh thickness. GA3 did not affect golden melon fruit on qualitative parameters, fruit sweetness, and fruit ratio. There was no interaction between golden melon genotypes and the effect of GA3 on all parameters. Five golden melon genotypes gave different characteristics on qualitative parameters and were significantly different on fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit sweetness. GA3 gave a significant effect on the characteristics of golden melon at a dose of 80 ppm. There was no interaction between the five golden melon genotypes and ga3 treatment.
