Halophila sp. is a type of seagrass that grows fast and is a type of seagrass pioneer. The type of seagrass pioneer generally has the ability to grow quickly so that it can stabilise the substrate. Morphometrics are measurements to determine quantitative forms (morphology). Meanwhile, meristic is the calculation of the number of parts of the organism. Research activities carried out include data collection (in situ) and (ex situ). The study was determined by taking the objective sampling by selecting a representation of the entire location of the basic environmental parameter conditions overgrown by Halophila sp. data collection for seagrass observations was carried out by the quartrate transoe method measuring 50 x 50 cm. Then analysed with descriptive, Morisita similarity index, and Pearson correlation. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a type of seagrass H. ovalis found in the dimple cape water, but the H. ovalis found has similarities with the seagrass H. major. However, the seagrass H. major has not been recognised by the Indonesian Institute of knowledge, as for its morphometric and meristic characteristics as follows: the diameter of the morphometric rhizoma ranges from 0.2-2.1 mm, the leaf length ranges from 14.2-30.1 mm, the internal range length is 2.9-35.4 mm, the leaf width is 13.5-15.4 mm, the root length is 2.1-50.3 mm, the length of the leaf stem is 2.95-2.8 mm, while the total number of leaf bones is 2 pairs, and the total number of leaf bones is 11-25 pairs.
