description: The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial performance of sharia and  conventional stocks in the food and beverage subsector using the Altman Z-score  analysis before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The data used in this study  comes from the annual reports of companies listed on the Sharia Stock List (DES)  and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2018 to 2023. The analytical tool  used is the Wilcoxon Rank Test with SPSS 26. The results show that the financial  performance of companies listed on DES is categorized as safe/not bankrupt, with  a Z-score of 3.33 in 2018-2019 and 3.52 in 2020-2023. In contrast, companies  listed on BEI experienced a significant decline, from a Z-score of 5.39 to 3.51  during the same period, though they did not reach bankruptcy levels. Statistically,  there was no significant difference in the DES companies, while the IDX  companies showed a significantly negative change. The differences are attributed  to factors such as better debt management and the avoidance of vulnerable sectors  by companies listed on the Sharia Stock List.
