This study aims to determine the effect of parenting patterns on single parents on children's learning motivation in Kampung Tanah Tinggi, Semanan Urban Village, West Jakarta. The approach used in this study is quantitative with a survey type. The population in this study was 20 single parents who had children who were still in school and 25 children from single parent families who were still in school. The respondent criteria used by the researcher were single parents with relatively low or sufficient income.  In this study, data collection was through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The theory used is Max Weber's social action theory. The data analysis technique used a simple linear regression test, partial significance test (t-test), and coefficient of determination test (R²), by conducting prerequisite tests first, namely normality test and linearity test using SPSS version 25. The results showed that single parent parenting patterns have a positive and significant effect on children's learning motivation in Kampung Tanah Tinggi, Semanan Urban Village, West Jakarta.  Based on the simple linear regression test, the constant value (a) was 19,596 and the parenting value for single parents (b/regression coefficient) was 0,449. The results of the partial significance test (t-test) showed that the t-value was 3,606> t-table 1,734 with a significance value of 0,002 <0,05. In addition, single parent parenting has an influence of 41,9% on children's learning motivation based on the results of the determination coefficient test (R²) that has been carried out. From the results of this study, parenting actions for single parents and children's actions as a response to parenting patterns carried out by their parents related to children's learning motivation can be categorized into Max Weber's types of social actions.
