Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dari siswa kelas 10 yang berjumlah 42 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara untuk mengumpulkan data. Secara khusus, kuesioner Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) diberikan kepada tiga siswa berprestasi. Analisis data didasarkan pada kerangka teori Oxford (1990). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas 10 berprestasi di SMAN 4 Kota Serang menggunakan berbagai strategi pembelajaran bahasa. Keenam jenis strategi yang diidentifikasi dalam SILL digunakan oleh para peserta. Di antara strategi-strategi ini, strategi metakognitif adalah yang paling sering digunakan berdasarkan rata-rata (3,92), sementara strategi memori guru adalah yang paling jarang digunakan. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan ini, disarankan agar Bahasa Inggris menyoroti pentingnya strategi pembelajaran bahasa dan menawarkan pelatihan untuk membantu siswa dalam menerapkannya secara efektif. Siswa harus memadukan strategi-strategi baru dengan strategi-strategi mereka saat ini untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran bahasa mereka dan mengatasi tantangan-tantangan. Selain itu, penelitian lebih lanjut harus membandingkan strategi-strategi pembelajaran bahasa di berbagai program studi. abstract: The objective of this study investigated the application of English learning strategies and examined the most frequently used strategies among high-achieving 10th-grade students at SMAN 4 Kota Serang in learning English. The research employed a descriptive qualitative case study approach. Data were collected from 10th-grade students across 42 students. The researcher used both questionnaires and interviews to gather data. Specifically, the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) questionnaire was administered to the three high achievers. Data analysis was based on theoretical framework Oxford's (1990). The results indicated that the high-achieving 10th-grade students at SMAN 4 Kota Serang employed a range of language learning strategies. All six types of strategies identified in the SILL were utilized by the participants. Among these, metacognitive strategies were the most frequently used by mean (3.92), while teachers memory strategies were the least employed. Based on these findings, it is recommended that English highlight the importance of language learning strategies and offer training to assist students in applying them effectively. Students should integrate new strategies with their current ones to improve their language learning and overcome challenges.
