"The motivation of this study is the problem that the creative thinking ability of junior high school students is still relatively low. One effort that can be done is the application of learning innovation with the contextual teaching and learning model and context-based teaching materials. Referring to the problem and how to overcome it, a study was conducted that aims to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model on creative thinking used by students to learn science in junior high schools. This study is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group design. This study involved all students in class VII MTs Negeri 1 Serang, which consists of 10 classes. Random sampling was used to determine the sample for this study, Class VII A was used as the experimental group and Class VII E was used as the control group. the experimental group used the Contextual Teaching Learning model and the control group used the Discovery Learning model. Data collection techniques are: (1) Descriptive question tests of creative thinking skills, and (2) non-tests in the form of observations of creative thinking abilities. Students' ability to think and create is measured by a written test instrument in the form of essay questions made according to creative thinking indicators that have been adjusted as many as ten questions have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the study showed that the experimental class with the Contextual Teaching Learning model and the control class with the Discovery Learning model were distributed abnormally. Hypothesis testing was carried out by test, and the level of relevance was based on the results of the Pretest and Posttest.
