description: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the economy but often encounter challenges in managing their supply chains, especially in facing competition from imported products and in achieving cost efficiency. This study focused on optimizing inventory costs in MSMEs to improve operational performance and business competitiveness. The implementation of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock (SS), and Reorder Point (ROP) methods in raw material inventory management—specifically coconut sugar as applied by UMKM Kawung LDK—has been proven effective in reducing procurement and storage expenses while maintaining adequate stock levels. Using the EOQ approach, the optimal order quantity increased significantly from 150 kg to 894 kg (496%), while the frequency of ordering decreased from 12 times to just 2 times annually (83%). The reorder point rose from 150 kg to 422 kg (181%), and safety stock levels increased from 150 kg to 398 kg (165%) to better anticipate demand fluctuations and supply delays. Most notably, the total inventory cost decreased by 79%, from Rp13,200,000 to Rp2,787,035, reflecting substantial efficiency gains without compromising raw material availability for production.
