description: This study aims to determine the application of the forward chaining method to penile hygiene awareness in the aspect of cleaning sexual organs in students with Down syndrome. The ability to clean the sexual organs is centered on the introduction of procedures for washing, cleaning, rinsing, and drying the sexual organs. The forward chaining method is used because it divides the task into the smallest steps and makes it easier for children with special needs to learn something complex. This research uses a single subject research (SSR) method. The results of this study are in the form of an increase in the awareness of penile hygiene of students with Down syndrome in the aspect of cleaning the sexual organs, at baseline 1 (A-1) an average value of 38% is obtained, the data obtained in this phase is taken before the treatment is given (initial ability) to the subject. In the intervention phase (B) the subject experienced an increase due to treatment or treatment using the forward chaining method with an average value of 60%. In the baseline 2 phase (A-2) the subject obtained an average value of 55%, the data obtained in this phase was taken naturally after the subject was given intervention in the previous phase.
