description: This method is one way to carry out a children's self-development program. The aim of this research is to improve the self-development abilities of mentally disabled children at SKh Negeri 01 Cilegon City. This research uses the Single Subject Research method with an A-B-A design. The population in this study consisted of grade 1 children at SDKh Negeri 01 Cilegon City. The sample in this study consisted of 2 people with the criteria of not being able to practice brushing their  teeth themselves. Data collection techniques include tests and observations. The measuring tool used in this research is that children are able to care for their teeth by brushing their teeth. The results and discussion show that there are better changes in children's self-development abilities when compared to children's initial abilities before being given intervention using the storytelling method using picture story books.
