This study aims to determine the effect of ZnO mass addition on Fe3O4@PEG:ZnO nanoparticles, initial concentration of methylene blue and irradiation time on methylene blue dye photocatalyst activity. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that the crystal sizes of Fe3O4@PEG:ZnO (1:1) and (1:2) were 6.014 nm and 6.012 nm, with cubic crystal structure for Fe3O4 and hexagonal for ZnO. The lattice parameter for Fe3O4 phase is 8.16 Å, while for ZnO phase it is 3.61 Å. Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) Spectrum analysis showed the presence of new functional groups in the sample after the addition of ZnO, namely -OH, C-H, and Zn-O bonds. Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) results show a decrease in saturation magnetization and remanent magnetization values, as well as an increase in coercive field values. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) characterization results show results that are in accordance with XRD data. UV-Visible Spectrophotometer characterization results show that the energy gap values of Fe3O4@PEG:ZnO (1:1) and (1:2) are 2.66 and 2.38 eV, respectively.
