description: Rice is the main agricultural commodity in Indonesia. However, information  related to the diversity local rice is still relatively low. This research aims to  determine the diversity of local rice in Banten Province. Samples were collected in  two districts of Banten Province, namely Serang and Lebak. Plants were identified  based on their morphological 10 characters. In total, 9 local rice has been  identified; Kewal Putih Rice, Kewal Hideung Rice, Ketan Cae Rice, Guling Rice,  Siang Rice, Ketan Langgasari Rice, Limar Rice, Cokrom Rice, and Ketan Ruyung  Rice . The implementation of this research on education was done by creating an  encyclopedia that can be used as a source of learning for 10  th  -grade students on  the concept of biodiversity. The validity value of the encyclopedia is 98,9%  indicates that the encyclopedia could be used as a learning resource.     Keywords: Banten, Diversity, Encyclopedia, Local Rice, Morphology
