The demand for cayenne pepper has shown a continuous increase from 2020 to 2022, with a consumption rate of 479.03 thousand tons in 2020, 528.14 thousand tons in 2021, and 569.65 thousand tons in 2022. In comparison, national cayenne pepper production rose by 11.04% in 2022, with an increase of 57.99 thousand tons compared to 2021. Maintaining a balance between consumption and production is crucial, which can be achieved by implementing drip irrigation systems and selecting the appropriate cayenne pepper varieties. This study aims to evaluate the effect of optimizing planting spacing in three varieties of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) using a dripline-type drip irrigation system and to assess its impact on the growth of cayenne pepper plants (Capsicum frutescens L.). The method used is a split-plot design, with the first factor being planting spacing, consisting of J1 (40 cm x 65 cm), J2 (50 cm x 65 cm), and J3 (60 cm x 65 cm), and the second factor being cayenne pepper variety, consisting of V1 (Dewata 43), V2 (OR Kencana), and V3 (Sigantung). The results show that J3 (60 cm x 65 cm) produced the best results for the plant height parameter at ages 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 days after planting, and for fruit weight per bed at the third harvest.
