description: The seagrass ecosystem has a very important role in the life cycle of fish as a place to spawning habitat, nursery habitat, feeding habitat, and migratory shelter. This research aims to identify fish community structure in the seagrass ecosystem Tunda Island waters and to analyze the relationship between fish community structure and the seagrass ecosystem. This study was conducted on Tunda Island in August 2024. The research method used was a survey or direct data collection. The fish data were collected using a gill net by herding the fish from the sea towards the shore. and the seagrass data were collected using a quadrat transect (50 x 50 cm). The value of seagrass cover on Tunda Island was 52.62%, which falls into the category of a less healthy/rich seagrass ecosystem. This research found 144 individuals of fish from 22 species and 12 families. The abundance of fish in the Tunda Island seagrass ecosystem ranged from 1-4 individuals per 100 m². The diversity index ranged from 1.68-2.44. The evenness index ranged from 0.92-0.95. The dominance index ranged from 0.10-0.20. Seagrass cover had a strong relationship with fish diversity and the fish species.
