Aktivitas fungsional pada tanaman berkaitan erat dengan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung. Jenis pelarut menjadi salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil ekstraksi karena senyawa metabolit sekunder memiliki kepolaritasan yang berbeda, sehingga untuk memperoleh senyawa tertentu diperlukan larutan ekstraksi dengan polaritas yang sesuai. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan jenis pelarut ekstraksi terhadap karakteristik fitokimia dan aktivitas antifungi ekstrak daun talas beneng. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Non Faktorial yang terdiri atas satu faktor yaitu perbedaan jenis pelarut yang terdiri dari aquades, metanol, kloroform dan heksana dengan tiga ulangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan jenis pelarut berpengaruh terhadap kadar total fenol, kadar total tanin, kadar total saponin, kadar total alkaloid serta aktivitas antifungi. Perlakuan pelarut ekstraksi metanol memiliki nilai tertinggi pada beberapa respon yaitu kadar total fenol sebesar 53,73 mg GAE/g ekstrak, kadar total tanin sebesar 30,17 mg TAE/g ekstrak dan aktivitas antifungi dengan analisis konsentrasi hambat minimum fungi C.albicans pada konsentrasi 500 μg/ml; 1000 μg/ml; 2000 μg/ml memiliki nilai KHM berturut-turut yaitu 17,36%; 37,60%; dan 56,34%. Sedangkan pada fungi A.flavus pada konsentrasi 1000 μg/ml dan 2000 μg/ml memiliki nilai KHM berturut-turut yaitu 28,56% dan 45,67%. abstract: The leaves of the beneng taro were used and had even been recognized as an export commodity. The functional activities in plants were found to be strongly associated with the presence of secondary metabolite compounds. One of the key factors influencing the outcomes of extraction was the type of solvent used, as secondary metabolite compounds exhibit varying polarities. As a result, selecting an extraction solution with the appropriate polarity was necessary to isolate specific compounds. This study aimed to evaluate how different extraction solvents affected the phytochemical properties and antifungal activity of beneng taro leaf extract. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Non-Factorial method, focusing on a single factor—the type of solvent. The solvents tested included aquadest, methanol, chloroform, and hexane, with three replications for each treatment. The results showed that the type of solvent had a significant effect on total phenols, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids content, as well as on its antifungal activity. Methanol proved to be the most effective solvent, producing the highest values for several parameters: a total phenol content of 52,55 mg GAE/g extract, a total tannin content of 30,17 mg TAE/g extract, and strong antifungal activity. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against C. albicans was measured at 17,36%, 37,60%, and 56,34% for concentrations of 500 μg/ml, 1000 μg/ml, and 2000 μg/ml, respectively.
