description: The research objectives were (1) to find out the target needs of 10th-grade students in reading and writing, (2) to analyze their learning needs in reading and writing, (3) to discuss the effectiveness of the digital materials to improve their reading and writing skills in the academic year 2024/2025. SMKN 5 Kota Serang was selected as the location of the research with 34 students participated. The method used was research and development then followed by the ADDIE model including the phases of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating. The steps of the research covered conducting needs analysis, designing teaching materials, developing the first draft of the materials, analyzing and reviewing the results of the expert judgement, and revising the final draft of the materials. Then, data collection included observation, interview, the evaluation, etc. The questionnaires were divided into the needs analysis, and the expert judgement to validate and assess the appropriateness of the developed materials. The collected data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The needs analysis data helped in designing and developing the teaching materials, while the data of the expert judgement were used to revise the materials. Based on the expert judgement, the materials in chapter one were categorized as “good” with an average score of 3.24, and the materials in chapter two were categorized as “very good” with an average score of 3.46. In conclusion, the developed materials are appropriate and can be used for the 10th-grade students at the school.
