Fisheries. Angling description: Utilization and processing of shellfish resources must be carried out to balance the high production of shellfish in Indonesia. Shellfish contain meat that can be processed into food and there are also by products in the form of shells which are considered waste so they are wasted and rarely used. Shell waste is a natural ingredient which aims to reduce the negative impact of chemicals found in toothpaste, while the main content of the essential oil in betel leaves is phenol and its derivatives such as kavikol which has a bactericidal effect 5 times greater than phenol. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness and find out the best treatment of toothpaste with the addition of green shell shells and betel leaf extract. The research stages include making green mussel shell flour, making betel leaf extract, making toothpaste formulations with differences in shell flour F1 (0%), F2 (16.5%), F3 (25%), F4 (33.5%), F5(50%). Physical test parameters include organoleptic, centrifugal test, viscosity, physical stability test, and antibacterial. The organoleptic test results based on the color, aroma and texture parameters of the panel preferred F1. In the viscosity test, all formulations were in accordance with the standards, then for the calcium test, treatment F5 contained the highest calcium carbonate. In the formalin test, all formulations were negative or did not contain formalin. Based on the centrifugal test results, all formulations have no phase differences, and for physical stability and pH, all are stable and still within the normal limits of SNI 8861-2020. For the antibacterial test, the best treatment is F5 with an inhibition zone of 5.00mm.
