Stainless steel foil 304 sering digunakan dalam berbagai aplikasi, salah satunya yaitu komponen elektronik yang membutuhkan kombinasi ketahanan korosi dan kekuatan mekanik yang baik. Namun setelah proses cold rolling, stainless steel foil 304 mengalami peningkatan nilai kekerasan sehingga perlu dilakukan proses annealing untuk menurunkan nilai kekerasan tersebut dengan memvariasikan holding time. Pada penelitian ini, nilai kekerasan dan struktur mikro dari stainless steel foil 304 hasil proses cold rolling setelah mendapat perlakuan panas annealing akan dipelajari. Annealing bertujuan untuk menurunkan kekerasan material agar lebih optimal sesuai dengan standar perusahaan untuk aplikasi komponen elektronik. Proses annealing dilakukan pada temperatur 900°C dengan grain size (0.5 μm, 3 μm, dan 9 μm) dan variasi holding time (2 jam, 4 jam, dan 6 jam). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampel A mengalami penurunan nilai kekerasan dari sampel A ke A1 sebesar 26%, A ke A2 sebesar 32%, dan A ke A3 sebesar 37%. Sampel B mengalami penurunan nilai kekerasan dari sampel B ke B1 sebesar 17%, B ke B2 sebesar 22%, dan B ke B3 sebesar 25%. Sampel C mengalami penurunan nilai kekerasan dari sampel C ke C1 sebesar 10%, C ke C2 sebesar 15%, dan C ke C3 sebesar 18%. Hal tersebut sesuai dengan hasil struktur mikro dimana semakin lama holding time, ukuran butir atau grain size semakin besar sehingga menyebabkan nilai kekerasan menurun. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, diketahui bahwa grain size dan holding time selama annealing berpengaruh terhadap nilai kekerasan dan struktur mikro stainless steel foil 304. Dimana grain size yang lebih besar menghasilkan kekerasan yang lebih kecil seiring dengan holding time yang lebih lama saat annealing. abstract: 304 stainless steel foil is a stainless steel material that has a thickness of less than 0.1 mm. 304 stainless steel foil is widely used in various applications, one of which is electronic components that require a combination of corrosion resistance and good mechanical strength. However, after the cold rolling process, 304 stainless steel foil has an increase in hardness value so it is necessary to do an annealing process to reduce the hardness value by varying the holding time. In this study, the hardness value and microstructure of 304 stainless steel foil resulting from the cold rolling process after annealing heat treatment will be studied. Annealing aims to reduce the hardness of the material to make it more optimal in accordance with company standards for electronic component applications. The annealing process is carried out at 900°C with grain size (0.5 μm, 3 μm, and 9 μm) and holding time variations (2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours). The results showed that sample A experienced a decrease in hardness value from sample A to A1 by 26%, A to A2 by 32%, and A to A3 by 37%. Sample B had a decrease in hardness value from sample B to B1 by 17%, B to B2 by 22%, and B to B3 by 25%. Sample C experienced a decrease in hardness value from sample C to C1 by 10%, C to C2 by 15%, and C to C3 by 18%. This is in accordance with the microstructure results, where the longer the holding time, the larger the grain size, which causes the hardness value to decrease. Based on this, it is known that grain size and holding time during annealing affect the hardness value and microstructure of 304 stainless steel foil.
